I’m Andrew D Pope and if you’ve spent any time reading “EI & You”, one thing should already be clear:

This isn’t about insight for its own sake.

It’s about what you do once you can see more clearly.

People arrive here for different reasons.

Most fall into one of three camps.

1. Stay in the thinking

Some people use EI & You as a long-form thinking space.

They read, reflect, test ideas against their own experience, and gradually sharpen how they notice themselves and others. That’s a perfectly legitimate use of the material here.

If that’s you:

  • Let the ideas do their work

2. Build clarity and skill independently

Others reach a point where reading alone isn’t quite enough but they’re not looking for direct coaching yet.

Typically, they want:

  • Clearer emotional awareness
  • Better control over reactions and triggers
  • More disciplined thinking under pressure
  • Practical ways to take responsibility without self-criticism

For people in this space, I occasionally offer structured resources, such as diagnostics, guided exercises, and short learning interventions, designed to help you apply emotional intelligence properly, without fluff or over-simplification.

If and when these are available, they’ll be signposted clearly.

3. Work with me directly

Some readers recognise a harder truth:

“I can see the pattern — but I’m still looping.”

That’s usually the point where external challenge and structured feedback become more useful than further reflection alone.

I work one-to-one with experienced adults who want:

  • Greater emotional control
  • Clearer judgement
  • Stronger boundaries
  • Renewed confidence rooted in responsibility, not reassurance

My approach is calm, direct, and practical.

I don’t rescue.

I don’t sugar-coat.

And I don’t do open-ended, dependency-creating work.

If we work together, the expectation is simple:

You are prepared to look honestly at your own role in your life and act on what you see.

A note on fit

Coaching is not always the right next step.

If you’re looking for:

  • Emotional validation
  • Motivation without challenge
  • Someone to “fix” things for you

…then this probably isn’t a good fit, and that’s fine.

If, however, you’re looking for clarity, traction, and personal ownership, then a conversation may be worthwhile.
